On your interview day
Timings and format
Your interview will take place online using Zoom, or campus, depending on your choice. The interview will last up to 20 minutes, and there will be an opportunity for you to ask any questions you might have about the BNurs course at the end of the interview.
We want to be sure that you can demonstrate your caring nature and compassion, as well as your ability to develop the knowledge and skills required to practice as an adult, child or mental health nurse.
Through this process, we aim to select high quality applicants with the most appropriate skills and attributes.

- whether you have thought about some of the issues that are important to the nursing profession.
ID for your interview
You will need to have a form of ID, such as a driving licence or passport, to show your interviewer during your interview. We do not need to see this before the interview.
Preparing for your interview
Have a think about the following questions and topics.
- Why do you want to be a nurse (and specifically the field you are interested in, adult, child or mental health)?
- How do you think you will adapt to studying at university? How will you manage your time between practical learning, time in practice learning environments, and studying?
- What skills do you think it is important to have? Do you have any examples of where you’ve used similar skills?
- Do you have any examples of dealing with a difficult situation?
- What questions would you like to ask us?
